WELCOME TO 2nd GRADE

Religion: daily religion, prayer service, holy mass, adoration, learn about saints, celebrate feast days

Spelling/phonics: recognize and use phonics rules to decode words. weekly spelling tests.

Grammar: write complete sentences with proper punctuation and capitalization, paragraph development, and creative writing through voyages in english.

Mathematics: number sense (place value, addition and subtraction, simple word problems), geometry and measurement ( identify basic shapes and attributes, measure objects using standard and non-standard units), time and money (tell time to nearest hour and half hour, identify and count coins/bills)

Science: Life science (learn about living organisms and life cycles), earth and space science (understand seasons, weather patterns, and landscapes, explore basic concepts of earth, sun, and moon) physical science.

Social Studies: History (study important figures and events in American history, citizenship, maps, geography, and learn about cultural traditions and holidays) through Impact Social Studies' Exploring Who We Are book.
